LEVEL GUIDE

C - recreational level

This level is designed for individuals who know the basic rules of volleyball, play recreationally, or have completed their first seasons on amateur courts. The game relies on traditional rotation in a circle without a division into fixed positions or player specializations on the court. Teams regularly try to play the ball in three contacts, although single two-contact returns may still occur. Serving is executed mainly from a stationary position, either underhand or overhand. In reception and overall passing, technical errors or inaccuracies may occasionally appear, especially with more difficult balls. Attacking focuses on safe placing or hitting from the wings with moderate power, while middle play is purely situational. A single block may already appear at the net, which usually lacks ideal timing.

 

B- - upper beginner level

This level is intended for ambitious amateurs who display decent ball control and fluid playmaking. From this skill level upward, teams gain the option to play with designated positions and a division of roles on the court. The serve becomes overhand and directional, executed from a stationary position or as a light float serve. Reception and passing are stable, and technical errors may appear mainly during the opponent's stronger serves. Hitting from the wings gains appropriate dynamics and power, and teams begin to try executing middle attacks. In net defense, a block is always present, usually single, with occasional attempts to form a double block.

 

B - intermediate level

At this level, the game becomes technically sound, featuring high fluidity and dynamic rallies at a high amateur standard. Teams play exclusively in dedicated systems with fixed positions, efficiently organizing defense and counter-attacks. The serve is accurate and powerful, taking the form of a consistent float or a jump serve. Reception and passing are reliable, allowing the setter to deliver precise sets, while unforced errors may occur only sporadically. Attacking is characterized by good power and speed, and middle play is common, serving as a permanent tactical element. A solid, regular single and double block with good timing operates effectively at the net.

 

B+/A - advanced level

The highest level is designed for well-trained players, often with a club or league background. The game is fully systematic and highly tactical, with teams playing effectively under immense pressure. Serving is aggressive and very powerful from a jump or takes the form of a fast float serve. Reception is stable and precise, relying on perfect target passes, although isolated slip-ups may still occur here. Attacks feature immense power, and middle play in the form of a quick or slide attack is an absolute standard. Net defense consists of a solid, extremely tight double or triple block characterized by excellent timing.
